Halston's recent revival in Feb 08 last year by Miramax films's co-founder Harvey Weinstein, stylist Rachel Zoe and Jimmy Choo's Tamara Mellon created much excitement in the fashion world. With Marco Zanini, Versace's former longtime designer, as its creative director, the brand was poised to make a successful comeback.Halston was well known in 1970s for its association with Studio 54, the infamous New York NightClub, and the club's glamourous patrons such as Elizabeth Taylor, Bianca Jagger and Liza Minnelli who wore his silky jersey gowns, ultrasuede shirtwaist dress and cashmere evening dresses.
Halston was dubbed Amercia's best designer by newsweek in 1972. He started his fashion career in the 60s as a head milliner for Bergdorf Goodman and gained recognition when Jacqueline Kennedy sported his iconic pillbox hat during the President's 1961 inauguration. He then started his own successful womenswear label which was well received by the jet set including Andy Warhol and the rest of Studio 54 nightlife in-crowd.

He lived a life of hard partying with an overindulgence in booze and drugs and died from AIDS in the 1990s.
The bag feature here is called the Zai Messenger Bag. It embodies what the Halston brand is known for: luxurious minimalist and effortless design. It has a cool slouchy look to it and can be comfortably sling over the shoulders with jeans when you are out and about the city running errands. It comes with a price tag of $2800 at LaPrendo.
